Ever since I first started playing basketball in 8th grade, I've been in love with basketball. Being one of the smallest out on the floor forced me to work that much harder. I was terrible in 8th grade, barely had enough strength to shoot the ball but being out there on the court was one of the best feelings I had ever felt. So I told myself I would get better. I've always been pretty fast so I learned how to use that speed and explosiveness on the court. I am nowhere near as good as I can be but I have come a long way. Things I need to improve on include shot selection and my awareness under the basket. Sometimes I surprise myself with how far I get with one dribble and find myself underneath the backboard with nowhere to go. I can't wait to take my game to the next level in college and one day go pro.
I have two main collegiate goals. First, I would like to get a good education which could set me up for a future career. In the word student-athlete, the student comes first and so I would like to go to a college that will provide the courses that I desire. In school, I'm planning on going into the cell biology department as I find the human body to be pretty interesting. Second, I want my game to take take the next jump, where I could go from a good to a great basketball player. I love being in the gym and I love seeing my game develop. Being able to do something that I previously couldn't brings me a lot of joy.
