Tim Zyburt '12 Recruiting Profile

The game of basketball requires commitment, hard work and dedication for success. I quickly learned to carry this forward on the court and in the classroom. I enjoy being a contributing member on a competitive team. Freshman and Sophomore years, I played football, basketball and volleyball. Every one of my coaches has complemented me on my strong work ethic, my ability to assess a situation and my team building/leadership skills. This year, I focused on basketball and volleyball. In basketball, I was proud to receive the majority of the toughest defending assignments. We don't keep many stats but hearing "good game" from not only the coaches and players but the parents as well, reinforced that I did my job well. I have a great respect for the game of basketball, its players and coaches. I hope to compete at the collegiate level. If it has to be as a supportive bench player while I pay my dues until Junior year, so be it. It's not a role I've been assigned yet, but I know I'd do it well. I am grateful to those who have improved my game by working hard with me at practice. Their support and encouragement makes all the difference in a winning team. In a perfect world, I'd be a starter all 4 years. In reality, I want to be an integral part of a basketball program committed to success - that's on and off the court.
