Personal Statement
My name is Ben Ndiaye, and my dream is to play basketball professionally. Throughout my career, every coach I’ve played for has praised my basketball IQ. I'm a combo guard but I primarily play point guard. I can score at all three levels, with my greatest strength being my three-point shooting.
I pride myself on being an unselfish player who values teamwork. I have always worked well with my teammates, prioritizing the success of the team over individual accolades. One area for improvement that coaches have highlighted is my need to be more aggressive on both ends of the court. I am committed to developing this aspect of my game and I'm working to become a more aggressive player.
Academically, I have been a strong student, particularly in mathematics. However, I acknowledge that I can push myself to achieve even more in the classroom, and my teachers agree. I understand the importance of balancing academics and athletics.
Coming from a country where soccer is the main sport played, I have experienced firsthand the limitations in infrastructure, coaching, and opportunities to play at an elite level. Despite these challenges, playing in three different academies and clubs has given me valuable experience and has fueled my desire to improve. I am eager to take the next step and join a college program where I can continue to grow as an athlete. I bring a strong work ethic, a team-oriented mindset, and a relentless drive to push myself to new heights.
