Missing out on the playoffs my freshman year was an incredibly hard thing to swallow. I'd been accustom to winning with my AAU and middle school team, so loosing wasn't something I was familiar with. After that season, I knew it'd take more than talent to make it to the playoffs. Not only did I learn to push myself harder, but I learned to push my teammates as well. My sophomore year the team banned together and we made it to the playoffs. Getting there was a great experience to have, but now coming back as an upperclassman, I have higher aspirations for the team.
The experience I gained from my freshman to sophomore year shaped my character and leadership qualities in ways I could've never imagined. Whichever team I'm on, I know now that in order for any team to be successful there has to be a leader, and I'm willing to take that role in order to achieve something great.
