Personal Statement
Hello! My name is Jamahl Ralls. I am currently a freshman at Penn State York, York, PA where I'm participating in the basketball program.
While in high school, I was an honor roll student at Edgewood High School in Edgewood, Maryland, Harford County.
During my varsity high school basketball career, I accomplished my goal of scoring 1,000 points, 2009-2010 season. I was ranked 1st in Harford County for scoring. Awarded Player of the Half-Year on January 29, 2010. I also made All County and All Conference 1st Teams. I am a 6 foot 0 inch left hand shooting guard and weigh 170 pounds. I was on the varsity basketball team at Edgewood High School since my sophomore year where I was one of the captains. I am a team player, dedicated to the game of basketball, a leader, and a hard worker. I know the game of basketball very well, because I'm also a basketball official. During each game, I do my best to encourage my teammates.
My basketball career started at an early age. At the age of five, I played on a seven to eight year old basketball team for Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), Maryland Recreation league. The agreement was if my dad coached then I could play. I played for Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG) from 1997-1999. In 1999, I joined the Emmorton Recreation Council league in Bel Air, Maryland from 1999-2003 and I also played on the Emmorton travel league from 2001-2003. Attempting to be more successful and move up in the game, I joined the Joppatowne Recreation Council league in Joppatowne, Maryland from 2003-2005 where I also played on the travel league. I joined the Amateur Athletic Union/Emmorton Recreation Council league (Maryland Elite) in 2007 to present.
