I am a Junior at Saint Joseph Prep. Although I knew I could do better I never really focused on my grades until this past year. Prior to that in middle school I was close to making second honors several times even making it a few. Realizing that I want to go to college, I have been paying more attention to my academics in hopes to get recognized. I am not sure what I want to study in college however I do know I want to go on. I have been playing basketball since I was in the first grade, and I was far from being good. It was not until I was in the fifth grade or six grade when I realized how much I love this game. I learned about an AAU program from one of my friends I joined it. The coach, Markus, was patient with me and saw something in me that I knew was there. He worked with me on my shots at practices, numerous camps and many one on ones. As a sophomore I made the Varsity team. I had a real good season and lead my team in scoring that year. This past year I led my team once again in scoring. Other teams literally have to center their defenses around me because I can shoot from anywhere on the court at a good percentage. Our team didn’t prepare for these tough defenses like full court face guarding, and box and 1 defenses making my second half of the year harder. For the last 2 years I have been hitting the gym hard. When not in school I am usually somewhere playing or practicing. I can never get enough. I have even gone to friend’s games to volunteer to run the clock or keep the book just to be involved. This past season I also assisted coaching to a 7th grade girl’s team. We did real well 14-4 and made it to the playoffs. If any coach needs a scorer or all around talent on their team look no further.
