Personal Statement

It has always been a goal and a dream of mine to play basketball at the next level. I am a multi-sport athlete but my love for basketball trumps all other sports. I'm open to remotely any school. I  desire an opportunity to continue my basketball career and get better!

On the court, I am a student of the game. I strive to get better everyday and often find myself putting in extra practice. Whenever I am on the court, I bring my play making abilities. My playing making abilities come from my court-vision, IQ, and decision making. These skills and attributes contribute to my assist totals, but also make my team a more cohesive unit. I have a knack for knowing where the ball is going before the other team, whether that be rebounding or on defense. I value winning the game over my personal success or stats. I have a competitive drive that fuels my play, that could be an organized game or at the park with my friends. I try to make my teammates better with my leadership skills. I try to set an example by pushing myself in practice, hoping others take follow.

My scoring stats and shooting percentages are not the most impressive. I recognize that and will be focusing on improving those numbers drastically. As well as keeping or improving my rebound and assist totals. I play in class D which is not the most competitive class for basketball in Nebraska. Last year, I believe I played down to the competition. My mindset has changed and I am hungry for bigger things. I will be a different player this year than last, I can guarantee that.

Off the court, I am just as competitive with my academics. I am ranked first in my class with a 4.0 GPA. I have a solid work ethic, which prepares me for any assignment or test that is assigned. I am currently trying to improve my ACT score because a 24 is not of my expectations. I will also be applying for many scholarships throughout the course of this year. If I were to be apart of your program you would not have to worry about my eligibility.

Preferably, the college I attend will be the best for me both athletically and educationally. I want a school where I can grow as an individual as well a basketball player. Thank you for your time, I hope to hear from you soon.
