My name is Eric Klekas and I am very interested in playing basketball for your school. I believe
I am a perfect fit for your program because of my hard work, dedication, knowledge of the game, and athletic ability.
During the 2015-2016 season, I started as a junior point guard for Elko High School in Elko, NV. Even after losing 10 seniors the previous season, we finished our second consecutive regular season undefeated, won our fifth consecutive Regional Championship, and reached our fifth consecutive State Tournament. I averaged 22.2 points per game, 3.6 assists, 2.7 steals, 6.4 rebounds. I also shot 90% from the free throw line, along with making 98 three pointers while shooting at 43%, which is our new school record. I scored over 600 points last season which is also a school record.
During the Spring and Summer months, I play on an AAU team from Boise, ID called Idaho Up-Tempo. During the past four years with them, we have traveled to top tournaments in Vegas, Washington, Utah, California, Idaho; while playing against some of the best talent on the west coast. I have played basketball my whole life and have a deep love for the game. I work hard every day to improve my skills and abilities. My daily workouts consist of: ball handling drills, shooting drills, lifting and agility work. I am dedicated in making sure that my game is always progressing and working to be fine-tuned.
My school work and off-the-court activities are just as important to me as basketball. I take school very seriously. I have a 3.3 GPA and am currently enrolled in multiple AP and honors courses. I plan on taking the ACT in early December. I am also involved in Student Council, Crowned Homecoming King, starting football quarterback, and various church activities.
I am confident that my basketball talent, work ethic, and leadership will help contribute to your successful team. I look forward to speaking with you about the opportunity of becoming a part of your program and school.
Attached to this letter, is my junior season highlight film.
Thank You.
