Mariah Johnston '21 Recruiting Profile

I am a 5’4” setter and libero from Elko, Nevada in my junior year.  I have started my last two seasons on varsity.  My first season I played libero, and my most recent season as starting setter.  I’ve also started the last 3 years for my club team- Ruby Mountain Volleyball Club, as a libero and setter.  Awards I have received for varsity include “Hustle Award,” "Second Team All-League" and "Best Defensive Player.”  For my club team, my awards include “Best All-Around Player” and “Best Server.”  I am also elected Team Captain for my club team. 

Volleyball has been my passion since I first started the game in fourth grade.  Ever since then I knew that is what I wanted to pursue in the future.  Not only is it the rush of the game that brings my love for it, but the feeling of having a team always having your back.
