My parents put a basketball in my hands at the age of two. Our family pictures of me clearly shows how much I loved the game. I was five years old when I first started playing organized basketball. My parents have all the videos, which I love to watch and reflect on how much fun I had during my bitty ball years. During my bitty-ball years my parents found a trainer that played overseas and still had love for the game, so he would work with me on my game three times a week. He was tough and disciplined. I worked hard on every skill and move he taught me.
The main reason why I want to play basketball is, because I love the game, and I love the atmosphere of all the screaming fans.
My teammates and coaches would describe me as a team player that loves to help his teammates make big plays. They would also say "if you need to score put the ball in Dom's hands". My teammates calls me "Clutch" because I make big plays at the right time or last seconds of the game. I love to see my teammates get involved in the game, sometimes my coaches tell me to be a little more selfish with the ball, but that's not the type of player that I am. I'm happy when my teammates are happy.
The type of coach I would love to play for is someone that is disciplined with their practice and will hold each player accountable for their actions on and off the court. I like a coach that is up-tempo with a lot of motion during the game. I want my coach to push me to be a better player than I was yesterday and the day before that.
My passion I would say is the love I have for game of basketball, and all the hard work I put into being better than I was yesterday.
