Personal Statement

I started swinging a golf club at 10 when my father got me some clubs so he could take me to the driving range with him however I did not actually play golf on a course.  I was committed to playing club/travel soccer which was year around.  The summer between my 8th grade and freshman year I decided to put all my effort in golf and gave up soccer.   My freshman year's high school golf tournament was my first ever experience with competitive golf.   I learned a ton that year and just missed out on regional.   My Sophomore year I broke through and made regionals as an individual and qualified for state as an individual.  I made a 10' putt in the dark on the 18th hole for par that got me in.    My love for the game has grown more as I play it and I am dedicated to becoming the best player I can be.

My overall collegiate golf goals would be that I get to continue to learn the game and have a coach that can help elevate me to my highest potential.   I also want be there for the team in what ever way they may need me.  Whether that's making a putt to win a match, working hard daily to get better or being there to support my teammates and lift them up when they need it.  I believe that being a great teammate, competitor and overall person is just as important if not more important than winning.  Academically, I want to be challenged and find my true passion.  I am looking for a career in church ministry.

What makes me different from most girls my age is my faith.  I live my life for Jesus in a way that those around me know there is something different about me.   That is Christ in me.   I look to be a light in a world that is full of darkness.  At 16 years of age I have written and delivered sermons from the pulpit at youth services for the church I attend.  I am a leader in youth groups and spend time volunteering and serving for the Lord.

Events

  • Camp/Event
  • 2020 IMG Junior World Qualifier
  • 2/16/20 to 2/17/20
  • Day 1 @ Highland Falls I posted an 89 and was tied for 10th in a field of 13, I played well most of the day but I got into trouble on a couple holes creating some double bogeys. Day 2 @ Palm Valley I shot an 86. I struggled on the front 9 shooting a 46 going out. I caught fire on 10 - 15 and played those holes even par. But got into bunker trouble on 16 and 17 double bogeying both. I shot a 40 coming in and finished 8th for the tournament.
  • Camp/Event
  • Nevada 4A State Championship
  • 10/21/19 to 10/22/19
  • 195 total for the 2 days. I finished 38th out of 51 which is a few spots up from last years state championship. I played with the flu both days.
  • Camp/Event
  • Southwest Leauge Match #3
  • 9/25/19 to 9/25/19
  • I posted an 80 and tied for 8th. 11/14 Fairways hit, 7 GIR, 33 Putts. Played well, struggled hitting GIR on the back 9 coming in.
  • Camp/Event
  • Southwest League Match #2
  • 9/19/19 to 9/19/19
  • Posted a 91. I played well for for 16 holes. I had (2) Quad bogies from two unplayable lies with little to no relief.
  • Camp/Event
  • Southwest League #1 Match
  • 9/09/19 to 9/09/19
  • Finished 11 out of 28 posting 85. 10/14 Fairways, 7 GIR, 36 putts - started rough with 2 triple bogeys in the first 5 holes. Both triples were short game related. I cleaned it up and played fairly well the rest of the round.
  • Camp/Event
  • Las Vegas City Junior Amateur
  • 7/29/19 to 7/30/19
  • 87/88 - 14/28 fairways, 9 GIR, 69 total putts. Tight fairways so I was missing just off the fairway. I was missing greens by a few feet and just not chipping it close enough to get up and down. Day 1 I shot really steady and had one "blow up hole" where I got a quad bogey. Day 2 I had too many double's and 1 triple bogey. Finished 5th in a field of 8..
  • Camp/Event
  • Southwest Antigua Tour event #6
  • 7/17/19 to 7/17/19
  • 10/13 Fairways , 4/18 GIR , 37 Putt - Struggled today with my approach shots and putting. Greens were really shaggy and I struggled adjusting my stroke to hit it firmer. Felt like my driving ball flight was higher than normal and I wasn't getting the distance on the roll out I am used to. Only 1 other girl in the event, I finished 1st.
  • Camp/Event
  • Southwest Antigua Tour event #5
  • 7/10/19 to 7/10/19
  • Stats: 13/14 Fairways hit, 10 GIR, 38 Putts - Single day tourney, only 4 competitor. Finished in 1st with an 86. I shot my 9 hole personal best with a 39 on the front. 3 putted #7 for a bogey and struggled hitting straight up hill on the #9 long par 5 that I took a double bogey on for the 39. On the back I had a triple bogey on a par 3 where I ended up in a green side bunker that was basically concrete so I bladed it out and into another problem. I also took a triple bogey on a par 4 with a 4 putt.
  • Camp/Event
  • Southwest PGA Junior Championship
  • 6/20/19 to 6/21/19
  • Stats: 23/28 Fairways, 10 GIR, 64 putts - First tournament traveling out of state. Finished 14 out of 19. First round 93 and a second round 85. In the first round I made a poor choice on the # 9 hole by laying up too close to the water and it rolling in. I then tried to clear the water to a front pin location and hit it in the water 2 more times. and finished the par 5 with a 10. I learned from it on day 2 and made par on that hole. Struggled on the the par 3 3rd both days by hitting it in the green side bunker that was deep and had trouble getting out. I made a 6 there both days.
