Marvin Crawford Jr. '12 Recruiting Profile

MY name is Marvin Crawford Jr, FIRST TEAM ALL AMERICAN D-2 JUCCO., I recently completed my 2nd season at Raritan Valley Community College (“RVCC”).  This year as a sophomore, I served as the team's captain and my stats for the season is as follows: 21.0 ppg; 6.5 rpg; 52.5 field goal percentage; and 32.2 3-pt percentage.  I am honored to be awarded the very first recipient for the 2013 – 2014 Augie Eosso Legacy Scholarship at RVCC.  In addition, I had the privilege of being selected four (4) times as the Garden State Athletic Conference “Player of the Week” this season.  Last but not least, I am highly honored to have ended my season as the Region XIX “Player of the Year”.  I was also selected to the Garden State Athletic Conference All-Conference 1st Team and NJCAA All-Region 1st Team both seasons at RVCC.  My dedication and tenacity on the court as a team player throughout the season, played a fundamental role in RVCC becoming the GSAC 2013 – 2014 Conference Champions for the very first time in the school’s history.  I can be described as a versatile player.  I am 6 foot 4 inches tall, approximately 200 lbs., and can play anywhere from the point guard spot, to the power forward position.   My wingspan is 6 foot 9 inches wide and I use that to my advantage offensively and defensively on the court.  My length allows me to defend in the passing lanes, block shots and rebound. My ability to handle the ball, allows me to make plays for myself and my teammates.  My versatility allows me to impact the game in many ways because I can accomplish anything on the court as needed.Academically, this past semester my GPA was 3.0 and now my overall GPA is 2.62.  I was also selected to the Spring 2013 Academic All-Conference Team.My goal is to play college basketball at the next level and earn a bachelor’s degree.
