Personal Statement

Swimming has proven to be a life saving sport for me. Before my 4th birthday when I was not swimming, I used to get sick often. My parents used to take me to my Pediatrician frequently. In order to help, the Pediatrician told my parents to try swimming. She told us that swimming may help my lungs, and overall getting stronger. On my 4th birthday, my parents decided to try it. That’s how I got introduced to swimming. Once I entered the pool, I knew this is where I’m supposed to be, and I instantly fell in love with this sport.

I started swimming when I was 4 years old. When I was younger, during lessons, I would look at the Swim Team Record Board and dream about my name being on the board. This dream helped me to go tryout for a swim team when I was 8 years old. That’s how I started competitive swimming with the YMCA Swim Team. Great coaching, practices, and personal drive helped my dream come true of having my name on the Swim Team Record Board as a 8 year-old!

Learning early that dreams do come true with hard work and dedication (after ranking at States, Junior Olympics and Eastern Zone), I started dreaming and working harder to qualify for YMCA Nationals. My coaches, practices, and teammates, who constantly pushed me, helped me reach there as soon as I turned a teenager.

Before getting into a College Swim Team, my dream is to swim around 2:00 in the 200 and 0:55 in 100 Backstroke and continue with an unbeaten record at my County High Schools Championship. It’s my dream to get accepted into a College Swim Team which can help me shape my next dreams for College Swimming, academics and professional career in the field of Health, Technology and Business.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
