My love for the game started in 2nd grade, when my older brother introduced the game to me. It wasn’t until 4th grade i played for an official team, and from that point on my love for the game kept growing and growing. I as a player grow and grow every year and my game gets more serious throughout the year. As my JV coach would say, I don’t start playin really serious until the second half but that also means i wont crack under pressure. I always have people telling me “oh Jeremy do you really think you’re going to go D1?” i always reply saying yes, and they just laugh. But that is okay because that is what fuels my fire. I love being doubted because it makes me want to work harder. I also have people telling me i’m not going to play college ball if i don’t have good grades. And they are right, my grades aren’t that terrific but they are also not that bad, but i know i can do better, and i have people that know i can and they support me.
I have learned that basketball is the only thing i have. My academics won’t get me anywhere big like it would for most people if i don’t dedicate myself to it.I grew up thinking basketball was my ticket out of Albany. I want to be able to provide for my family one day the way they provided for me all these years. Without my family I wouldn’t be who I am today. They support me a lot and i want to make them proud. My goal is too get my grades in the high 90s before i graduate. I know i can do it but i don’t really dedicate myself to it. I always think all i need is basketball but i also need my education. Because if i don’t have basketball then at least i would be somewhere that my academic intelligence got me. What makes me different from everyone is if i really put my time and effort to something it would come out successful. But what also makes me different on the court is my play style. I am a 6’2 ,lengthy player who can get to the hole, shoot, play good defense, block any shot that i see go up in the air, and most importantly I never give up on the game, on my coach, my teammates, and myself
