Francis Nwokonko '23 Recruiting Profile

I grew up in a  household where we value healthy lifestyle and physical activity, I started young in karate and although I enjoyed it when I began basketball and that became more involved I had to drop karate.  However it taught me a lot about body control and discipline.  At school my main sport is clearly basketball and I play on a travel team as well. We did great last year and won Nationals in Florida. Though we have great individual players on our team that was only possible through team effort, on the court and off the court. I consider myself very fortunate to have so many friends in the basketball community and a supportive family.

I thrive to be the best at what I do,  be prepared to work and concentrate fully on the task ahead be that in sports or academically. I have worked methodically over the last years to improve my game and used opportunities for additional practice. In the spring I also participate in track and field at school which helps me with speed and jumping and that again is something I can apply on the basketball court. I am ready and excited for college basketball.
