I consider myself a product of my environment which isn't a negative thing for me. Growing up in an urban community in the Bronx I was surrounded by so many things. Some of them good but most of them were not so good. As a child I was unfocused, frustrated and angry a lot. I was diagnosed with ADHD and ODD early on. My parents encouraged me to find something that would help me release my energy but ultimately help me focus and work on being a better me. I tried several different sports but basketball came natural to me. I would rather play ball than hang with my friends. It became my life. I was part of a team where I needed to be focused and calm.. As a student athlete I would bring determination, a willingness to learn and a desire to be part of a successful team. Even though I am young I have been through a lot personally and professionally. Having a diagnosis has helped me more than hindered me. I've learned great academic skills that helped to increase my GPA. I practice techniques to better myself overall which includes being a better ball player. I decided to work harder and smarter to achieve my collegiate goals. I want to attend a college or university to major in business where I could be a student athlete. I want to take what I learn and become successful in the sports management industry.
