Landen Cox '25 Recruiting Profile

My collegiate goals are to excel both academically and athletically, while contributing to the team’s success. I am in my second year of Building Trades at Franklin - Essex - Hamilton BOCES, located in Malone, NY.  I am in my senior year of high school, I am applying to colleges to major in Electrical Engineering and aspire to be part of a basketball team.

My journey has been unique. Due to unforeseen circumstances, my parents transferred me to a new school my senior year. My former school, St. Regis Falls Central (SRFCS), faced a significant loss of teachers, which impacted my education. Due to the NYS sports rules, I am unable to play high school sports at my new school Brushton-Moira Central School (BMCS) as I do not reside in district. Currently, I play in a Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) basketball league. 

Since transferring to a larger school, my grades have improved significantly, rising from a D average to a B average in a short period. I thrive in challenging environments and am committed to improving my academics throughout my senior year and into my college journey.

As an all-around athlete, I pride myself on being a team player who leads by example. I believe in fostering a positive and supportive team environment, where every member feels valued and motivated. My coaches and teammates often commend my leadership qualities and my ability to inspire others. I am always eager to learn and adapt, and I believe that my versatility and strategic thinking make me a valuable asset to the team.
