My collegiate goals are very simple finish college with a four-year degree! I plan on studying sports management or sports medicine which will still be in the field in the game that I love which is basketball. Now obviously there are many kids that want to play college basketball, but I will tell you what separates me from everyone. In the summer of 2015 I started to watch players at the park play basketball all the time and I fell in love with the game I used to play soccer all the time (which helped with my footwork) but I realized I would be taller then I thought I would so I decided to give basketball a try and it was an amazing experience. Now I know that 14 years old is a little late to start playing tournament games (I always played park basketball for my whole life) but I have something you don't find in kids anymore which is heart and desire to get better. I'm that kid that'll stay those extra 3 hours after everyone has left the gym, the one that asks plenty of questions, and the one that is up at 6 a.m to put in the work. Now let's get down to basketball which is probably why you are reading this. At 6'1 at 14 years old I'm very agile for my size, can handle the ball, can shoot the ball from the perimeter,, can shoot the free throw well, and may not always dominate my opponent physically, but I always dominate them mentally. Meaning that I will get up in there face and bring that team energy when we need it. Lastly, my academics are what make me a better basketball player mentally. I take academics very seriously as my parents preach everyday "You are a student athlete, not an athlete student" meaning studies are always first and that definitely translates to my grades. Now after reading this it may sound as if I try coming off as the perfect athlete, but I'm not I'm still working on my game and I'm improving everyday and I look forward to working with higher level management and just give my parents, my coaches, and I a call, email, or text if anything. Have a great day!
Sincerely,
Seidina Doukoure
