Matt Bernhard '17 Recruiting Profile

I absolutely love the game of basketball and I'm looking for a well-rounded college program that seeks a model student-athlete.  I am a National Honor Society member and I will be studying Biology, leading to an advanced degree in health sciences.  No one outworks or out-hustles me, either on the court or in the classroom.  On the court, speed and intelligence are my best attributes.  Coaches have told me that my court vision, energy, and speed can change the tempo of a game.  I know that winning means not only scoring more points than your opponents, but also stopping them from scoring.  I bring solid and consistent defensive energy to break down an opponent.  From watching my film, you'll see that I'm often the first player down either end of the court.  Again, no one out hustles me.  I'm very coach-able and am often looked to as a team leader.  I am an unselfish player and will do whatever my coaches and team ask of me, whether it be score, distribute, lock down an opposing player, or carry the team academically.  I'd love to talk to you about what I can bring to your basketball program; on and off the court.
