Hi, my name is Gianpiero Arnone and I am part of the class of 2024. I live in Melville, New York with my mother, father, younger brother and younger sister. Growing up, I always knew that I would find a sport that I loved, only found out that it was basketball when I was 12. I tried out for a basketball team and I didn't make that team. I was so upset and finally realized that if I was serious about basketball I needed to get better. I started to go to one of the best trainers by the name of Ralph Rosetti. He helped me get faster, get better at shooting, and develop my dribbling skills. During the summers I started to grind two hours a day and it would kill me if I skipped a day. Fast forward three years later, I became a starter for my freshman team and I also recently went to a tournament in Springfield, Massachusetts with a 16u team called Next Level. The moral of my story is that I became a fighter to the end. I was raised to be kind, never let other people get to me, and to never give up. There were days where I would be tired to go run and practice but I pushed myself because I knew that if I want to play in college I need to show up even on the bad days. I also keep that mentality in the classroom as well, my parents always told me that academics come before sports so I always made sure that I kept my grades up. I have come a long way since 12 year old me and I don't plan to stop getting better.
