Titus James Cunningham comes from an Athletic & Academically sound family with his Mother, Father (Dad, former Student-Athlete at the University of Utah), and two older sisters. He was born in Ogden, Utah, and has grown up in Charlotte, North Carolina. He thrives athletically on the Basketball Court, especially now as he attends the Mallard Creek High School Mavericks. Titus has been involved with competitive basketball since 2012.
Coaches have told Titus that I have tremendous upside. In 2019-2020 Titus played for Pro Skills Basketball, an AAU team that Step Curry sponsors. He grew a lot in his time playing with PSB. In early 2020, he made JV and started off the bench to starting half-way during the season, and when the Varsity went to the playoff, Titus was moved up to Varsity.
Titus has really grown in his basketball game. He was the leader and lead scorer on his PSB AAU U16 team and, throughout that season, really carried the team on his back. In the Winter of 2020, Titus was invited by Head Coach Michael McNeil of Mallard Creek High School to play in the Winter League. After showing promise, nice touch on the ball, great length, and hustle, he has shown himself to be an asset, especially during the Varsity Winter League.
Titus was awarded a starting position on Varsity; his coaches have even commented that he has a ton of upside and potential. In his first game on Varsity, he was the leading scorer. His basketball IQ is growing because he has been training with Coach Dexter Jenkins, who owns and operates Skill Boost Academy. His work ethic and focus on elevating has been in large part of his training with Coach Dex. Coach Dex has trained many basketball players who have obtained college basketball scholarships and are/have played collegiate basketball in college.
Titus is very athletic and has long admired former NBA & Olympic Point Guard Deron Williams basketball skills. He has and continues to study and communicate with many Collegiate & Professional athletes and watch their techniques and athletic craft. His passion & focus have allowed him to excel in both Football & Basketball, however, he is really All In and focused on doing well in School & Basketball, so that he can set himself up for the best opportunity to earn a College Basketball Scholarship.
Titus demonstrates a superior work ethic in the classroom and as an athlete spending the "offseason working" on strength and conditioning, positional mechanics, and elevating his overall game in Basketball. As I have hopefully communicated, I, Titus am eager to show the college coaches that they will get a Scholar-Athlete that will focus on being efficient in all phases of life, which includes being a man of integrity, staying positive, leading by example, and doing well in school and basketball.
My parents have continually taught me the importance of academics and athletics, but I'm also grateful for the leadership skills they have instilled in me, like; a positive attitude, good character, integrity, discipline, teamwork, and service. I know my family has always told me to “Believe and Achieve” to become something great.
