Mason Rusch '20 Recruiting Profile

I started playing basketball when I was four years old in a recreational league. Then I joined my first school ball team in 2nd grade. This eventually lead to playing in my first AAU game in the 6th grade, then becoming the starting point guard on the varsity team my freshman season. I currently am a Junior, and my season just came to an end. I grew tremendously my freshman and sophomore season having to go up against senior point guards, teaching me how to be mentally and physically tough through out  the season.

I was able to see my freshman and sophomore season what it takes to compete against bigger, faster, and stronger players then me. This past fall I really worked on my defense and getting my upper body stronger. The hard work has really paid off. I accomplished things this season I never thought I would’ve accomplished like being the first ever to join the 2,000 point club at my school. Unfortunately, my team lost in the first round of our district tournament this year, but I believe this was good for me and my team. Not winning a state championship, but learning from my mistakes and understanding the work I need to put in in order to be where I want to be. As a junior, I believe I definitely have what it takes to play at the college level. I desire to be challenged both athletically and academically. I have the ability to lead your team not only on the court, but off the court as well and in the classroom. I have exactly what it takes to impact and become a leader on your team!
