I am a 6'7'' 205lbs Power Forward from Germany. I was attending Cannon School in Concord, North Carolina as an International Student. Presently I am back in Germany to get my Abitur (German Graduation Degree). In Germany we have a 13th grade in high school so I will graduate in 2013. I am playing for a basketball boarding school (Bis Baskets Speyer, the one where Elias Harris PF for Gonzaga University came from) in a highly competitive league, called the NBBL which is a nationwide under 19 league. I went to boarding school at the age of 13 which was not an easy step for me. I did this because it was the only way to realize my potential as a basketball player. At that time I was part of the All-State team and the coach offered me a spot in his boarding school and an opportunity to work out 7 days a week. I am a really competitive person and I quickly figured that this is what I wanted and what would help me to achieve my academic and athletic goals. Living by myself at such a young age made me grow up quickly. I had to organize my own schedule, stay on top of schoolwork, improve my athletic abilities, and simply live by myself which means making food, cleaning up, and finding a way to get from point A to point B without parents who take care of you every day. After spending three years at the boarding school and becoming an extremely independent and self-governing person, another life-changing opportunity came up. In 10th grade I got the opportunity to be an international student at Cannon School. This was an amazing opportunity for me because Cannon School plays in one of the most competitive conferences in North Carolina. Now I could measure my skills with the best athletes in my age group. Since August 2010 I live my own American dream and I enjoy every minute of it. The opportunity of playing high school ball brought me one step closer to my dream of playing college basketball in the United States. I am very interested in attending an American college or university once I earn my Abitur. I love the American way of life and I am sure that I can make an impact on your team. I work hard every day in the gym and in the classroom and I am not afraid of getting outside my comfort zone. I have always been one of the captains on my team. I even made it to the bigger roster of the German National Team which means that I am one of the Top 20 Players of my age in Germany. I am looking to play basketball for a midsize or a large school. Geographically I am pretty much open to everything even though I love North Carolina and the Southeast. I have not decided on a major yet, but I am very interested in the field of business. I want to be at an academically challenging school. I posted my German transkript translation to show what I can do in the classroom. I also posted all my report cards from Cannon School to show my academic progress in an American school. I want to point out the fact that English is my second language and that that is the reason why Cannon School did not let me take AP courses. Beyond that I challenge myself by taking Chinese which is my 4th language after German, English and French. Taking classes in a foreign language is extremely difficult while you are trying to get adjusted to a different culture please consider that while evaluating my GPA, PSAT/SAT scores and other academic sources.
