Gabe’s Recruitment Biography
My name is Gabriel Robert Kirkendoll. I’m a 18 year old student athlete at Northside High School located in the city of Jacksonville, North Carolina. My interest in sports was instilled in me by my dad at an early age. My dad was my first coach. I also have older brothers who encouraged me to be competitive in all you do. One of my brothers, James Kirkendoll, played college football for the “Texas Longhorns” and was fortunate sign with the Tennessee Titans of the National Football League! Since then I’ve been aspired to play basketball at the collegiate level and later in the National Basketball Association. Throughout this journey I’ve developed respect and love for the game of basketball. I’m coachable and constantly striving to become the hardest working player on the team. I’m a dedicated team player with a High Basketball IQ who leads by example on and off the court! Above all, I realize that my academic future is my number one priority. I’m consistently on the “Honor Roll” while maintaining a notable GPA. I want to find the right college match at the highest level of competition possible. My goal is to attend college where I can achieve my academic degree in the Engineering field while playing college basketball on the national stage. I hope to become a great role model to all peers and make my parents proud. I play within the flow of the game. Scoring is not all that he can do. My court vision one of my best attributes and I'm a very unselfish team player. I possess fundamental footwork with a variety of sound moves. I also have a variety of shots in my shooting arsenal ranging from three pointers, mid-range elbow to the interior post position. I have distinct moves and outstanding ball handling skills which makes me difficult to guard when I’m in the attack mode to the basket. I have the “Winner’s Mentality“ which makes me the confident but determined basketball player that I am today! On defense, I’m a key player in our team’s success in because I’m often called upon to guard the opponent’s best offensive player. I keep my hands and feet moving which often lead to numerous steals and forced turnovers resulting in favorable momentum changes for our team. Total Team Player!
