My name is Landon Turnbull, and I am a 6'2" 185 lb. shooting guard. As a freshman, I started varsity and was a role player that did whatever the team needed from me. The team was very successful in my freshman season, but the season ended in a very tough way. I learned a lot from my freshman year and went into the offseason knowing I had to work to get better. My sophomore year I started varsity again, but I took on a much bigger role. I was a team captain and was one of the main scorers on the team. The team was very successful going 23-3 while winning the conference, and winning the district. I averaged 15 points and 5 rebounds per game, and I also received 1st Team All-Conference and 1st Team All-District awards. I have always been a hard worker at the game of basketball, and want to keep working to reach my goal of playing college basketball. School is also something very important to me; my goal for high school is to keep my GPA at a 3.8 or higher and to score a 25 on my ACT. The main characteristics that I have that will help me on and off the court are leadership and determination. I have always been a leader when it comes to sports, but I am also a leader during school and church-related activities. The character trait, determination, is something that has been with me since I was a little kid; I am very determined now to become better at basketball and to succeed in the classroom.
