As a student athlete, being able to learn many things both academically and physically is very important to me. One of my major aspirations in life is to be able to graduate from a higher-level education in the field of kinesiology. I hold myself to a very high standard, and want to stand out through my character and faith. Growing up, my first language was Tongan and I had to learn English as a second language. I maintain fluency in both languages to be able to continue to communicate within my community. As a Tongan, i take this opportunity very seriously and want to be an inspiration for the generations to come. I am willing to give my everything in all aspects of my life so that i may become as successful as possible and hopefully help others to become successful as well. I am very family oriented so working with others in athletics for a common goal is not a problem. Overall i am willing to stay locked in mentally so that I may maximize the opportunities that are set forth in academic, physical, and spiritual aspects of my education.
This basketball season was a very rough one with lots of losses. It can definitely bring you down but I saw it as an opportunity to grow in the various positions they placed me in. It also allowed me to gain/portray some vital skills that allowed me to emerge as a leader. Being only 5'9 pitted against very tall players i had to learn very quickly how to be versatile and quick on the floor, but also be able to read the court and look for opportunities to assist my teammates. Growing pains are expected with a new team and I fully expect we will do great things in the next season.
