Michael Zaire Paris '23 Recruiting Profile

My goal as a college student  is to obtain a degree that will allow me to earn enough money to take care of myself and my family in a way that we can be proud of.  I would also like to play basketball at the highest level possible, because I love the game and the competitiveness of it. I possess a high basketball IQ and my ability to make my teammates look good and build their confidence, is one of my strongest skills.

Growing up, my parents said that, “education is first and sports is second”.  As a result of this expectation, I am enrolled in and have been enrolled in all honors classes since my freshman year. I am also a member of the National Society of High School Scholars. 

I am a good addition to any team because I am a team player and committed to helping my team win by being the best player that I can be on and off the court.  I am currently training with a trainer outside of school to improve my endurance, agility and strength for my AAU team and for my upcoming high school basketball season.  I am an active youth council member with Men for Positive Change, where I help younger kids with homework, teach them basketball skills and meet with city council members to discuss resources that young people need in order to keep them out of trouble. 

I am respectful and have been told that I am very coachable. I will represent myself and my school with integrity and honor.
