Edwin Westervelt '21 Recruiting Profile

I am an outside left back  (#3) and can also play the  #8 or the #11.  From the back , I like to start the play by playing to my #6 or $10 and I like to jump up into the play.  I can play all formations but I like in 4-3-3 and 4-3-2-1 best  and can play multiple positions .  As a left footed player,  I like to drive the ball into the box and also find my midfielders and send them going forward.  I defend tactically very well and I have good recovery speed. I work well with the center back and can also play out of small spaces.

I feel I am a good candidate for college teams because I am relatively tall, I am left footed,  and I can get into offensive play with speed.  I understand the need to be in top shape to compete!   I can support all kids of players.  I think I play smart out of the back.  I think what separates me from other recruits is my ability to be a good teammate by communicating and finding players in good spots.  I like to share the ball and like to set my teammates up .  I love being a part of a team that wants to win and looks out for each other.

I have good grades and I am involved in my school Archbishop Ryan.  We play in a real tough league, the Philadelphia Catholic League.  I want to get a great education and continue playing soccer at the most competitive level I can.  I look to major in Accounting and get my CPA.
