I have been playing soccer ever since I went to my older sister’s soccer game when I was 6. Until I was 12, I only played in-house soccer for Valley AA. This is when I began training individually and joined an unranked travel team for Parkwood Flames. I was significantly behind the other girls my age, who had been receiving professional level training their whole lives. I got cut from my high school team freshman and sophomore year. This was incredibly hard for me to grasp because I had worked so hard and I knew I was good enough the second year. However, I did not hang my head and kept the faith in myself that soccer was something I was meant to do. I can now say I made an ECNL R-L team for the club FC Bucks. The ECNL offers the highest level of play in the country, a long way from where I came from.
In just 3 years I was able to get to a level of soccer that other people have spent their whole lives building. And I know I belong here because people never believed that I would or could be as good as I am and yet, I am not even close to being as good as I know I will be.
This does not mean I am resting on my laurels in any way. The goal to get better every day on the pitch and in school never has and never will change, no matter the level. This has cultivated an intrinsic sense of tenacity, self discipline, and ambition within me. I want to have a platform when I am older to inspire people you can do anything you set your mind to. I am looking for a program that can fulfill my academic and athletic needs. Education is very important to me. I never want to stop learning and I strive to maximize every fiber in my body whether it’s on the pitch or educating myself, learning the guitar and Italian, reading and writing every day, art, etc. I believe I possess the attributes to compete for a collegiate team, as well as the leadership qualities to make a monumental imprint on your program. My journey has proven to myself that I have the acquired characteristics to be a pivotal leader on your team!
