As a player I feel as though my play at my high school has built me the most. I think I really grew after my freshman year when my best friend and I came in as freshman starters on varsity with tons of confidence and got beat up quite a bit. That season really made me realize how hard I have to work as a player and a person to get to where I want to be. The following season we were able to win the division two state title for the state. That was such a big reward and really made me feel great about myself and how much my hard work had paid off. It made me want to continue to work because I fell in love with winning. I believe I have a great mind for the game and would love to be a coach post-college. That would be my dream job to coach at the college level. Outside the physical aspects of my game I think I have shaped into a great leader not only by words but action. I think some of this has come through my work with the TOPS program which is a program in my town that works with special need kids and soccer. Also I believe I have become a leader through working with the Boys and Girls Club of Cumberland/Lincoln where I have worked with lots of the younger kids in the community on basketball and life skills.
