Basketball is more than a game. I have dedicated my whole life to this sport and enjoyed every minute of it. Through my love of this sport, I have learned that everyday is a gift where the clock can go out any minute. Going to the gym, getting shots up, working out, and always improving my game consumes my everyday actions and thoughts. As a kid, I was never the tallest, so I had to use my size to my advantage. I've had to be creative in everything I do. I am a playmaking point guard. I move the ball and get it back and make the right play at the right time. I am as competitive in the classroom as I am on the court and try to make sure my grades come first.
I found my true love for basketball by the age of ten. The first time I picked up a basketball, I fell in love with the sport because of the practice and drive it required. I asked my parents if I could play for a team and I started off at a church league. The rush I felt from playing in a real game was amazing. I have met many people through basketball, different coaches and players, but the most important people in my basketball career have been my family and my high school coach. Having a brother who also plays basketball, we are very competitive. He was the first person that made me realize how much I have to be in the gym working on my game and getting stronger. My mom and dad are so helpful because they always make my games and support me no matter what happens. My high school coach is also a great impact on my life. We go over my mistakes and how to get better. He will come to the gym with me and make sure I am doing drills correctly and with energy.
