Personal Statement

My name is Evan Hutcheson, I am a 6'1" guard, I have spent my high school career at a small private 1A high school in Dallas, Texas.  I have attended this school since 5th grade because it has specifically helped me overcome my learning differences and given me the tools to thrive academically.  I have been a starter on Varsity since Freshman year.  I have played all over the floor and this past year with seniors graduating, I had to run the point, which was a new challenge for me.  I have very good vision on the floor and pride myself on communication with my teammates and leadership on and off the court.

Since I play at a small school, I have taken every opportunity available to me to play with high-level competition.  I play AAU basketball, I play pick up at local gyms and I work weekly with a private coach who pushes me to extend my skill set and work on the parts of my game that will make me a more complete player. I am a tireless worker, a gym rat, and I am constantly looking for ways to push myself so that I can be a better player, a better teammate, and have the opportunity to play at the next level.

I am looking for a college where I will be able to live out my dream and play college basketball, but also can further my academics, and get my dream job of being in the F.B.I or becoming a U.S Marshall. I am willing to red-shirt my freshman season if that is what is best for the team, and be able to play in that fifth year. I  pride myself on adapting to challenges on and off the court and want nothing more than the opportunity to play at the next level and set myself up to be academically successful so I can be ready for a career I am excited about after college.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
