2020 Jonathan Ale...Personal Statement
My name is Jonathan Alexandre. I am Haitian and was blessed to come to the United States in 7th grade to get my education and have better opportunities for my life and to help my family and friends in Haiti. I am thankful for two families - my Haitian family and my American family. I have been tutoring since I arrived in the U.S. and take my studies seriously. I have had to learn a totally new language, culture and much tougher school work. I believe this is preparing me well to succeed in college and life - flexibility, discipline, focus, commitment, toughness, respect and thankfulness for those helping me.
I love playing basketball. In addition to playing with my school and my Nike ProSkills travel team, I work out multiple times each week on both strength/conditioning and basketball skills. I want to become my best.
I want to play Division 1 basketball. I desire a basketball coach and program where I can learn, contribute, build great friendships and be encouraged to become my best. I am committed to graduate from college but I don't yet know what career I want.
I look forward to learning more about colleges that might be a good fit - where I can contribute and also receive a good education and become my best at basketball.
