Caleb Sanders '23 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Caleb Sanders. I’m a 6’3" shooting guard/small forward at Memorial High School in Houston, Texas. In deciding whether to pursue playing basketball at the next level, I asked myself if I could picture life without basketball after high school, and the answer was a definite "NO."  I am excited to wake up every morning to get shots up and lift before going to my classes.  I love the challenge of maintaining a good GPA while training for basketball several hours a day.  I do it in order to make myself the best player and student I can be.  

I am a hard-working player who puts team first and gives my all every time I step onto the court.  I am willing to do whatever it takes to contribute to my team, even if that means playing a position other than my primary position. As a 9th grader, I made the B team.  At the time, I was happy not to have been cut.  Then I realized I was selling myself short, and I made two goals: (i) JV as a sophomore, and (ii) Varsity as a junior.  I worked extremely hard and not only achieved those goals, but surpassed them.  I was a JV starter as a sophomore.  I made Varsity as a junior and, because of our team's lack of height, I volunteered to play post, even though that is not my natural position. I was a starter all season and made the All-District team.  

After high school, my goal is to be a successful college player.  Based on my track record, don't bet against me!
