Payton Gonzales '21 Recruiting Profile

Hi my name is Payton Gonzales, and I am the point guard for the Jourdanton High School varsity basketball team. Basketball has been in my life since I was a baby.  My love for basketball came when I started realizing all of the lessons I could learn from the sport. Basketball taught me that when you do things the right way and put forth the required work, you can achieve anything and overcome any obstacle not only on the court, but also in life.  My dream has always been to play basketball at the highest level, but the next step in the process is to play for a college team.  I know if I can get there on a scholarship, it would make life much easier on my mom.  I know how proud she would be if I could reach that goal.  I know I would fit on any college team because of my culture, effort, enthusiasm, and love for the game that I bring to a program.  That includes both on and off the court, and in and out of the classroom.
