I pride myself on being an extremely competitive, athletically-gifted scholar who embraces four core values of hard work, accountability, loyalty, and discipline. Those values were taught to me by my parents who both retired with over 50 years of combined military service as U.S. Army officers. There are also three support tenets that have sustained me, and I trust will sustain me in the future. They are 1) my faith in God and family, 2) my family/village's support and encouragement, and 3) the lessons learned from challenges and failures from the past. Having entered school earlier than my peers, I was forced to figure out how to compete and excel among kids that were a year or two older than myself. As I eventually started to rise through the ranks (both academically and athletically) I realized that by simply staying devoted to my core values, and support tenets, things would work out for the best.
My short-term goal (2-4 years) is to become an All-American, and Academic All-American basketball player at the collegiate level. I then will do everything within my power to play professional basketball either at the NBA level or internationally (5-10 years). I will use my academic prowess, and the achievements I have obtained so far to earn a spot to study and train to become a doctor of physical therapist (DPT). This will ultimately allow me to work with people and athletes in the future to remove physical barriers in order to fulfill their athletic goals and increase their quality of life.
