I remember the first time I ever held a basketball. I was two years old, in my basement with my father who was interviewing me, as if I was a pro Basketball player. The next time I held a Basketball I was in the 2nd grade and made a buzzer beater winning the game, that was day I became inspired and instantly knew being a basketball player was for me. Ever since then I have worked hard to be the best person I can be physically and mentally both on and off the court. Some of my key attributes on the court are my court awareness, having a strong ambidextrous dribble style, and shooting. I consider myself to have a "well rounded game" and enjoy encouraging my teammates making sure they are all involved.
Off the court, I study hard to maintain a 3.8 GPA and I have a huge passion for computers. I plan to major in Computer Science with an emphasis in cyber security, which I believe is the future of our wars. I also volunteer at my local church and sometimes lead worship. Being in such a good environment I’m able to focus on what’s important and eliminate all distractions. My parents have always stressed the importance of education and that, "you can’t do anything without grades!” I have used this to push myself in the classroom. Having a passion and plan other than Basketball is crucial while it creates a well-rounded sense of self.
My Grandmother always emphasized that I could achieve anything I focus on and attend any college of my choice, even Harvard. She was a huge role model for me and we shared a very close relationship. After she passed away, I made a promise to myself that I would strive to attend the highest-level university in her honor. I consider myself to be a well-rounded individual who has a passion to learn; as well as a focused athlete with a God given ability to play Basketball. Each day I trust Gods plan while I shoot for the stars and follow my dreams. Truly anything is possible!
