Personal Statement
My name is Elgin Curry, I am currently a Freshman at Yantis Highschool. I would love to go to college and play basketball while also continuing my education. I study hard everyday and always put in tons of work in the gym. I became interested in basketball around 6th grade after realizing that it was a fun and difficult challenge, and became serious about it when I was entering 7th grade.
Attending college would make me the first in my immediate family, since my grandmother attended and became a nurse. My goals in life are to try my best at everything I do, and do it well. I strive to be the best I can be, and to make my community a better place. I work with and for the FFA; I currently hold the title of chapter Vice President. I do UIL and sports such as Basketball, Baseball, and track. I believe I have potential to be a great player on the court and an even better student in the classroom.
