My life has been greatly influenced by family. They have instilled the values that have molded, pushed, and driven me to where I am as an athlete and scholar. Having a mother who was often hospitalized for mental illness as I was growing up and watching her mentally gain strength showed me that whatever situation you are given in life you can make it a success. I have used this mentality to continue to drive and push when basketball opportunities and accolades didn't fall my way.

• Basketball has always been there for me providing an avenue where I could quiet my head and push myself physically, mentally, and emotionally. I have become a student of the game watching countless videos, reading books, meditating, creating a game-day preparation program, and even picking the brain of leaders in my community. This has allowed my game to improve exponentially as a leader and teammate while progressing my skills. Committed to this practice I have led my high school team out of a losing record to the playoffs. As I proceed to college I plan on using these set of skills to acquire my degree while advancing and elevating the basketball program to new and higher levels.
