  • Western Region High Preformance Camp
  • 6/15/19 to 6/20/19
  • What is the Western Regional High Performance Camp (WRHPC)? The Western Regional High Performance is a selective Player Development Camp that has been developed in coordination with the Pacific, Northern Plans, and Rocky Mountain Districts as well as USA Hockey. Why is there not a National Camp at this age group? USA Hockey discontinued the national 14 Boys camp in 2011. It was determined that a player who is 13 or 14 years old is too young to be identified or scouted for National Team consideration and the focus of camps at these ages should be on development. Where is the camp held? The camp will be held at Colorado College in Colorado Springs, CO. When is the camp? The camp starts on Saturday, June 15 with check-in starting at 3:00 PM. The camp will complete on Thursday, June 20 by 1:00 PM. Who will be coaching? The camp staff will consist of NHL, USA Hockey, College, Junior, and Prep School coaches. Team Leaders will be selected from participating affiliates. What is the format of the camp? The camp will be very similar to a USA Hockey National Select Camp. The players will be placed on teams upon arrival. There will be two ice sessions per day with additional off ice sessions and seminars. The emphasis of the camp will be on player development and education.
