Growing up I could never seem to get a basketball out of my hands or out of my mind. That is the way I have always been, when I find something I love, I obsess over it and have an untamable desire to improve at it. My love and obsession for the game has grown over the years, and I am excited to see the impact that it will have on my college teammates. Because I am so passionate and put so much of my life into basketball, people always ask me what I love about it, and my response is always the same: Everything. The feeling of the ball coming off my fingertips as I take a perfect shot, the fire I feel in my gut when I am out of breath and competing against others, the camaraderie of a brotherhood-like team. Some of these things I have been able to experience in other sports like football and baseball, but nothing has ever been equal to basketball. The game has taught me so many things about life and myself that I genuinely do not believe I could have learned somewhere else. The game is truly a teacher of life, and I am grateful to have learned that firsthand, even if I was not happy with the lessons it gave me at first. With every obstacle I have encountered, I have learned from it, and have come back stronger and more prepared. I know I will leave your program a significantly better player and an even better person than when I arrived there, along with a legacy and example for other people within the program to follow. I have an extreme work ethic, put the team before myself, have an unmatched desire to win, and an infinite love for the game of basketball.
