Hi my name is Matt Merlo. I am a 6'4" guard in the class of 2023 and attend Random Lake High School. I have loved the game of basketball since I was 4 years old and grew up playing for my local team in the Wisconsin Youth Basketball League. My freshman year, I played at the varsity level giving valuable minutes off the bench, and then continued on to start all 24 games during my sophomore year. During the off season, I am continually working on my craft by playing with the Chapman Basketball Academy traveling throughout the country on the AAU prep hoops circuit as well as skill development at open gym and training. I would describe my game as a pass first, point forward who loves to get my teammates involved but at anytime can take over a game. I am a versatile player with the ability to run the offense from the point, play the post, and knock down shots from all spots on the court . I would love to continue my basketball career at the collegiate level for a college who will push me both in the classroom and on the court.
