Hello Coaches,
My name is Oumar and I am 17 yrs old as of 11/1/20 and a junior in high school. I have dreams of being a professional basketball no matter the routes or sacrifices I have to take. I say that because ever since my 8th-grade year and the summer of my sophomore was when I really flipped the switch to just focus on basketball as it was my first time being on a team so, even though I haven't been playing team basketball for a while, but I always like to go with teammates to the gym and put some work in to make up for all the potential I could have if started playing earlier. Although I haven't played AAU teams I feel very confident that I can match up and take on any competition. I am positive that I can play great defense at a high level. What I can bring to a team is good energy, motivation to teammates, encouraging teammates to persevere, and having great chemistry. I am a person with high morals and integrity and set standards for myself to a better person and always hold myself accountable in all situations. In practice, I always give 100% to better myself and my teammates in practice. Team chemistry and building great relationships is always on my list when I get introduced to new teammates. In my academics, I always give my best effort and always succeed in it. I devote time to finishing my work before I can have time to play basketball. I "bought-in" when I realized I have to put in work and have to do things outside of the gym to get better. In my junior year, my confidence in all my categories of play drastically grew where I have problems in before. My stats may not show that I am “good” but I can guarantee you that I am better than what my stats say through the work I have put in the offseason/summer.
