Personal Statement

I am a three-sport athlete... basketball, football, and track, as well as a 4.0 student. I am not afraid to live anywhere in the country.  Because of family opportunities, I have lived in Colorado, Texas, Wyoming, and Arizona.  I have always loved sports and being a part of a team. I do not want it to ever end. My goal is to continue to play sports in college, not only for the love of the game, but because I want it to help pay for my education

My goal following my sports career is to coach at the college level. I know the best path to take is to be successful as an athlete and to stay on as a graduate assistant. My back-up plan is to use my degree in business administration. I believe a sports mentality is the foundation to anything successful, personal or professional. I believe in doing everything for the opportunity rather than the obligation.

I have played on a year-round traveling basketball club since I was ten years old, except during high school ball. I played my freshman year at Sunrise Mountain and decided on my own to transfer to a bigger school the following year. I have had to pay the price of sitting out a year of eligibility due to this decision, but I believe I will benefit from it down the road. While sitting out a high school season, I continued to participate in every practice, I was just unable to participate in games.

If a coach or teammate were to describe me as both a person and an athlete, they would say that I am very dedicated and hard working. I believe I would be an asset to any program, and I look forward to working hard to improve all of my sports performances.
