Personal Statement

I am currently a 6’3” 185 lb combo guard for the Cheyenne Central Indians, Rocky Mountain Fever & Thunder Basin summer basketball teams. I attended IMG Academy during the spring of my 8th grade year (2018).  My goal is to be able to play basketball at the next level.  I am committed to doing what it takes to prepare myself to reach my goals.

I was a backup point guard on my high school team as a freshman.  As a sophomore & junior I was a varsity starter.  I learned that the game gets more physical and faster the higher the levels go.  I plan on playing as much basketball as I can at a high level to prepare myself for being a leader during my senior year of basketball.  I am not satisfied being a secondary player for my high school; I want to be able to leave a legacy of championship basketball teams at Central High School, like I did as a junior when I helped my team win the state championship at the highest (4A) level.  I had a fairly good game going 3-3 from 3pt, 3-3 from 2pt , 11-12 from FT with 7 rebounds & 5 assists.

I want to go to a college where I can be challenged both academically and athletically.  I am currently undecided on what field of study I will pursue once I go to college.  I am willing and committed to working hard in the weight room, on the court, and in the classroom so I can be the best me as possible.  I understand the importance of a team and supporting everyone on the team for the greater good.  Basketball has taught me that I need to be flexible to work/play with all different personalities and that the success of the team is more important that the individual awards that may come in the end.  I will continue to work hard in the pursuit of my dreams/goals of being a college level basketball player.
