My name is Ben Feldman. I am 17 years old and a junior at Arroyo Grande High School in Arroyo Grande, California. I have been playing golf since I was five years old and have been part of my school’s varsity golf team for all three years of high school. I was first recruited to the Arroyo Grande golf team in seventh grade among several other local high school recruitment offers. As a freshman, I was co-captain, helping lead the team to their sixth consecutive undefeated season and League Championship title, while winning the CIF Qualifying Championship. Returning as the co-captain my sophomore year, I helped lead my team to another undefeated season and League Championship title, while earning medalist honors in the CIF Divisional Championship and honorable mention in the CIF Sectional Championship. Recently, I have taken on the role as the team captain, guiding my inexperienced teammates and leading the school to their eighth consecutive undefeated season. Beyond school affiliated athletics, I have extensive experience in local and regional tournaments. I have dominated past US KIDS local tours and local county junior tours winning 17 consecutive tournaments and earning tour championship medalist honors. Furthermore, I have played in several SCGA and NCGA tournaments, won JR. PGA state team events, and have placed third in the Taylormade VCJGA Tour Championship. Throughout my years playing golf, I have been affiliated with the First Tee program and have participated in several state and nationwide leadership academies and tournaments. While I have a 4.67 gpa and enrolled in numerous college level courses in high school, I want to study molecular biology in college and pursue a career in the medical field. My goal is to play collegiate golf in a high level, competitive atmosphere, where I am not only able to advance my game to the next level, but to also build strong relationships with coaches and teammates while competing for playoff and championship contention. I am a natural leader, demonstrating a tenacious work ethic and mature character that would meld seamlessly in any team atmosphere. I take pride in my work and the school I represent, as I aspire to be the motivational and supportive teammate that seeks to help others grow alongside myself.
