Personal Statement

Resume:

As a golfer I have only been competing competitively for about 4 years, and am very comfortable competing. I am continuing to play amateur and junior tournaments. Currently I play on the De La Salle High School varsity golf team. During the summer I competed in NCGA, JGANC, and AJGA tournaments and other amateur events locally. I am Currently am being recruited by Saint Mary’s, San Jose State, and others. I am a highly focused individual constantly striving to get better whether it’s in the classroom or on the course. I have been known as one of the hardest working individuals around.I am looking for a good school which I can improve my game and be the best I can be. I was wondering if Washington State University offers a walk on spot for golf? Financially assistance is not needed for my family I am only looking for a walk on spot or tryout. I am currently working on my game with PGA pro Shawn Mcentee at Chardonnay Golf Club. Shawn has helped me a lot with my game recently and we hope for great things in the future, he has taught me a lot. Below are a couple of tournaments I have played lately, if you need any more information please email me back or text/call at 510-388-2209.

  • Shot 77 again i guess thats my magic number now. I played pretty bad and good at the same time. I made three doubles in the round and other than those three holes i was 1 under. But the score was still bad, i grinded really well tho i was 3/3 out of bunkers and made some great par saves outside of 15 feet. I was top 50% so i got 1 star but not the round i was looking for
  • Camp/Event
  • Ncga match play
  • 8/11/14 to 8/12/14
  • On the first day i shot 77 and was tied for 30th put of around 120 or so people the score wasnt that bad considering how i hit the ball and started off. I was five over after nine with two doubles on the front but on the back i played better i shot even. we played the way back tees so the course was pretty hard and long especially the ocean side of the course got really windy. The second day was s good i followed up with another 77 and missed the group of 32 that advanced to match play by 2 shots. I still hit the ball bad and didnt make any birdies the entire day so it was a pretty bad day. But all and all it was a good learning experience
  • Camp/Event
  • Ncga match play qualifier
  • 7/18/14 to 7/18/14
  • I shot 3 over 75 which was a good score given the conditions the course is about 7000 yards long and it was really windy and hot all day. I qualified for the NCGA match play at Spyglass the 11-15 of August. The best score of the day was even par 72 and the worst score to still qualify was 77. There were many college players at the qualifier from schools like UCSB, UC Davis, UOP, Sacramento state, and San Jose State.
  • Camp/Event
  • Walnut creek junior classic
  • 7/09/14 to 7/09/14
  • Shot 2 under par 70 came in 2nd place out of about 70-80 or so kids. I played very well I hit 14 greens and 14 fairways made 3 birdies and one bogey.
  • Camp/Event
  • Mira Vista Junior Classic
  • 6/16/14 to 6/16/14
  • I won the tournement with 4 over 76. the course was playing long with the gusting winds all day but i scrambled really well around the greens.
  • Camp/Event
  • NCS Tournement of Champions
  • 5/12/14 to 5/12/14
  • Shot 2 under 69 finished top ten in the tournement. Our team didn't qualify for Nor Cal and I missed qualifing for individual by 1 shot.
  • Camp/Event
  • NCS Qualifier
  • 5/05/14 to 5/05/14
  • Shot 71 even par round and got 2nd over all in a field of 90 kids.
  • Camp/Event
  • Joe Gamebetta high school invitational
  • 3/03/14 to 3/03/14
  • Weather was tough it was windy and chilly but I managed to put together a round of 74 2 over par which was pretty good for the day finish in the top 15 out off about 100 or so kids. The tournament consisted of about 15-20 teams and our team( De La Salle) got second place with 376. All and all I played pretty well just jumped on a bogey train and lost my focus for a few holes.
  • Camp/Event
  • Concord city amerature
  • 9/07/13 to 9/08/13
  • Shot a 73 (2) over par on Saturday from the bak tees it is 7000 yards on a windy course. I missed a few good opportunities at birdy and hit 14 greens but overall it as a decent day. On the second day it was not a good day at all the wind was howling and there were some very hard pins. My short game was on a pretty good level but i only hit 3 greens in regulation and that just killed me. I finished saturday with an 80 (9 over) and finished T11 with a 153 behind most of the Saint Marry's College golf team. Jonathan De Los Reyes won the tourney with a 5 under
