My brief, 4 year, golf career has taught me a lot about the person that I have molded into. I truly became dedicated to the sport soon after realizing that baseball would not be the sport that I thrived in through high school. The moment that seemed to truly define my career was when I was told I would not make my varsity team my freshman year. I made a vow to myself that no matter what, I would find a way to play on my varsity team the next year and I did. I practiced for hours on end, day after day to accomplish my goal. The strokes began to drop ever so steadily and I knew my hard work was beginning to pay off. Not only was I able to make my varsity team the next year, but I also earned my spot on the team for the last few weeks on my freshman season. The support my family gave me was incredible and seemed to push me to the limits that I had to fight through. My family has always, and will continue to be, my greatest supporters through my journey.
As a student I try my hardest to earn the best grades I can. Even though my grades are not the greatest of all athletes, I do see myself as one of the most determined for success. I always push myself to accomplish anything I set my mind too. Being the captain of my golf team, I work very well with my peers. I love seeing a team really come together and enjoy a good moment on or off the course. My high school career has taught me how to push myself to become a better golfer, a better leader, and most importantly a better teammate. My goals for the future include making the travel team of any school I fit in at, drop my average score by at least 3 strokes by working on all aspects of my game in my first year, improve my teams national ranking, and receive the desired grades and set myself up for a successful life.
