Personal Statement

The main reason I want to play college golf is because I love the game. The other reason that I want to play golf in college is because it will allow me to further my education and help me be more successful whether I decide to pursue golf after college or not.

  • AJGA / CJGT Junior at Yorba Linda
  • 7/11/16 to 7/14/16
  • Par 71, Slope 132, Distance 6832. I qualified the first day with a 75, fifteen greens in regulation and six three putts (three of those in the last three holes). The first day of the actual tournament, I shot 73 with 10 greens in regulation, 29 putts, and 7 up and downs for par. Day two, I shot 81 with 5 greens in regulation, 2 double bogeys, and 1 triple bogey (caused by bad touch). Day three, I shot 75 with 12 greens in regulation, 32 putts, and 4 up and downs for par. Over the course of the four days, I could not get the speed of the greens down which resulted in my higher scores, and my swing decided to have a breakdown on the second day also. Since then, I have worked on touch drills and getting my swing to be more consistent.

  • Day 1, Eldorado Park GC, Par 72, slope 126, Distance 6461. The course was playing much more difficult due to the similar conditions to the Long Beach Open, and is by all means a college level course. I shot 78 with 6 fairways in regulation, 5 greens in regulation, 10 up and downs for par, and 28 putts (with 3 three putts). Day two, Big Rec GC, Par 72, Slope 118, this course had aerated greens the day of the tournament due to the lack of a Green Roller. I shot 77 with 10 fairways in reg, 14 greens in regulation (12 of which were inside 15 feet), and 36 putts. My putting was horrendous the second day of the tournament.

By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
