I have been playing soccer since I was 6 years old. My first experience was with our local recreational organization and I wanted to play with my friends. When my recreational team promoted into Club, I remember my Coach asking who wanted to be the goal keeper, and my hand was the only one raised. It has been almost 5 years since that decision. In those 5 years my field experience has been both as a goal keeper and striking forward, until the summer of 2017 when the Pateadores Developmental Academy recruited me. I now focus all of my field time and effort in the goal.
Academic success is also my focus during the rigorous 4 days per week soccer practice and games during the weekend, along with travel to matches outside of California. Excelling in school is a priority to me and with my family. I currently hold a 3.7GPA and I am enrolled in advanced math and honors Biology. I was honored recently with my schools prestigious Lion Pride Award, which teachers select one student per year, that exhibits multiple qualities relating to academic success and leadership.
As a goal keeper, I am the last line of defense, I can't afford to make mistakes. I may not be able to win the game, but always am striving to save the game. My soccer experiences have allowed me to learn to control the field by providing constructive direction to my field players, as well as gaining confidence and intensity while playing the game. Each time I step onto the field, I strive to be better than I was before.
